Gujarat: Passengers returning to see Ambaji temple overturned, 21 dead

Ahmedabad – 21 devotees died in a gruesome road accident in Banaskantha district of Gujarat on Monday. According to official information, the victims of the accident were returning to visit the famous Ambaji temple here on the occasion of Navratri. Meanwhile, due to rain, the bus full of passengers overturned near Trishulia Ghat. PM Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah have mourned the incident.

According to local people, the incident took place around 4 pm. People say that the pilgrims were returning after visiting the Ambaji temple. After the accident, the Chief Minister of Gujarat, Vijay Rupani, after talking to the District Collector, said that the injured should be given immediate assistance. After the information of the bus accident, all the officials of Banaskantha district administration have reached the spot. Apart from this, teams of police and NDRF are also being sent to the scene and work is being done to bring the injured to the hospital.

PM expressed condolences to the families of the dead

The PM wrote in his tweet, ‘A painful accident has been reported from Banaskantha. I am deeply saddened by the death of people in this accident. My condolences to the families of the victims in this hour of grief. The local administration is working to provide all possible help on the spot. I pray that the injured people get well soon.
